Genesis Flood & Babylon - In my book “Science, Origins, & Ancient Civilizations - Scientific Evidence Withheld from School Textbooks” in the section on “Civilizations and the Queen of Heaven” I write about how myths arose from Babylon and spread to Greece, to Rome, and into our culture today.  One of the arguments used by modern day critics of the Bible is that clay tablets from Nineveh, dated to the 7^th century B.C., record a story of a great flood, and that this tablet predates any Hebrew parchments.  Some critics conclude therefore, that the Hebrew account in Genesis of Noah’s flood is only a “re-write” of the Babylonian myth, and not inspired by God.  These two ancient texts (the Babylonian tablets, and the Bible), have some similar points, but differ substantially.  The assertion has been that the Noah account is not “God’s Word” and only a re-write of this Babylonian myth.  As published in “Acts & Facts” November 2011, archaeologists have pointed out that there is a much older tablet from the Babylonian city of Nippur dated to 2200 B.C. (catalogue # CBM 13532), and it totally agrees with the Noah account in Genesis.  This conformation of Scripture is ignored however, in our educational institutions and school books. 

     Similarly, in my book “Revelation, Apostasy, End-Times, & “This Generation” I discuss how the Zodiac (Mazzaroth in the Hebrew -- Job 38), seems to actually tell the story of salvation from the very beginning of creation when God created the stars, and named them.  The names of the stars in the constellations (which are historically agreed to), seem to tell God’s story of salvation.  Today, of course, the Zodiac has been perverted into astrology.  Also in this same book I discuss how the story of Jesus has been perverted by our education system, by implying that other ancient mythological god stories (which pre-date Jesus), were credited with many of the same miracles which Jesus performed, implying again that Jesus is only a copy of the myths of older cultures.  These “similar stories” have one-by-one all been discredited, but they remain in many school books and popular media culture.

153 - What’s in a number? - Many wonder exactly why God uses such specific details like the 153 fish harvested on the right side of the boat in John 21:3-12.  I’m not into all the number counting schemes many get into, but John was inspired by God on a couple of occasions to use very specific numbers, both in the book of John, and in the Revelation.  The Hebrew and Greek languages both used letters to refer to numbers, and numbers to refer to letters.  Everyone recognizes that there is a letter to number representation in 666 used in Revelation 13.  In the Hebrew, 153 translates to Beni Ha-Elohim (Sons of God--angels), just as used in Genesis 6 where the fallen angels came to women before the flood of Noah (see the book “The Flat Earth & Genesis”).  In the Greek, Sons of God is also related to the number 153.  In the Greek, the term “Sons of God” translates to 3x7x153, which means “The perfection of God’s purpose is in the Sons of God.”  Here, in John, the Beni Ha-Elohim are not the fallen angels who are condemned by God (Jude 6), but, are the Beni Ha-Elohim who are reconciled and saved (Romans 5:10-12 - see the book “The Flat Earth & Genesis”).  God’s precise use of 153 to describe the fish harvested into His kingdom on the right side of the boat is to inform us that we have fallen (just like Adam and Eve fell).  And, just as Adam and Eve were banished to the earth to die as humans, we also will die--having been born as flesh humans.  Yet, God will save all those who trust in Him (John 3:1-7)--the perfection of God’s purpose--the reconciliation of the sons of God.

     Richard Trench in his “Notes on the Miracles of Our Lord” noted that this “definite number, even as the number of the elect, is fixed and pre-ordained…being equal to the angels.”  Augustine referred to the 153 as symbolically representing the saved.  Jerome referred to the 153 as the elect gathered into the kingdom of God.

Created as dirt/clay, or born flesh?  There are some interesting passages in God’s Word which help us understand our connection with the host of creation (commonly referred to as angels).  Adam and Eve were but two of the host of God’s creation.  The Bible tells us we existed with God prior to our birth here in the flesh.  Various passages point to God knowing each of us before the creation of this earth age (Eph. 1:4-5, 11; Rom. 8:28-29; Matt. 25:34; 1 Corin. 2:7, etc.--see the book “The Flat Earth & Genesis” - www.burneyfam.com).  And, the Bible tells us we have a lot in common with the host of creation (angels), and that we will be like the angels again in the resurrection (Matt. 22:23-30).  Note that in this passage here in Matthew 22, that Jesus is asked a question concerning humans, and responds that we will be like the angels. 

     Job understood that we were created originally (just as Adam and Eve were created in Genesis 2:7), out of the dust/earth/clay/mud to live eternally with God in Paradise/Eden (Job 33:4-6).  Job and his friend understood that even though we were created by God originally out of clay/dirt (in Eden), that we are now born into this world as flesh (being sinners), to accomplish the reconciliation after the fall (Job 25:4).  Job speaks of the resurrection to come as well (Job 19:25-27), when we will be restored to a supernatural state (like the angels).  In Job 38:4, God asks a rhetorical question; “Where were you when I (God) laid the foundation of the earth?  Speak if you have understanding.”  A few verses later, God explains that all the stars of heaven (all the sons of God, the host of heaven), sang as God laid the foundation of the earth.  It is clear in the Hebrew that this earth (which the host of heaven were witnessing God work on), was the re-made earth (Hebrew “asah”).  A re-made earth for this flesh period of reconciliation of the fallen host of creation back into a relationship with God.  Words used to describe God’s work on the earth here in Job 38 are “change,” “over throw,” “darkness,” and “death” - obviously not the creation of Eden, which was to be for eternal life--no death.  The book “The Flat Earth & Genesis” (www.burneyfam.com), explores this in great detail from both the Hebrew in the Old Testament, and the Greek in the New Testament.  Now we can understand the reason for the differences between the Eden creation account, and the 7-day creation account.

Adam & Eve, people of Nod, and DNA – The latest theory from science concerning how far back humans go, now includes the hypothesis that there was not Adam and Eve only at the beginning, but there must have been an original population of about 10,000.  Main stream evolutionary thought proposes that an early population of about 10,000 human type ancestors were the base of the homo-erectus population we have today, and no one Adam or Eve can account for the genetic sequencing we observe today.  Randall Isacc, executive director of the American Scientific Affiliation (with over 1,600 members), states that “The human population was definitely never as small as two…our species diverged as a population.  The (DNA) data are absolutely clear on that.” 

     It is interesting that this is a biblical issue as well.  This issue is addressed in two books, “The Flat Earth & Genesis,” and “Science, Origins, & Ancient Civilizations – Scientific Evidence Withheld from School Textbooks.”  Hebrew scholars have for centuries thought that those created on the sixth day (Gen. 1:26-31), were not Adam and Eve, but a small population created by God to join with Adam and Eve.  Also, in Acts 17:26, God’s Word tells us that “He made from one man every nation of mankind,” which means that, even if there was a “small population” created by God, God provided for the line of Adam to form every nation we see today.  Romans 5:12 states, “Through Adam, sin entered the world, and death through sin, and death spread to all men, because all sinned.”  Therefore, death spread to all men, which would include any others God may have created on day six of creation (Gen. 1:26-31), if, in fact, God did created a small population (Nod), to join with Adam and Eve (see these books and also News & Update August, 2011 – burneyfam.com).

Human DNA / Adam and Eve – In the book “Science, Origins, & Ancient Civilizations – Scientific Evidence Withheld from School Textbooks,” (burneyfam.com), it is pointed out that certain DNA studies show only 6,000 years being traced back to Eve (the first homo-erectus).  In the July 2011 edition of “Science News,” page 8, it is noted that new evidence points to the origin of our human populations today, not being in Africa (as has been theorized for years).  The new scientific evidence points to a location just a few miles north of the country of Turkey (sounds biblical, doesn’t it).  In “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences,” on June 6, 2011, Geologist Reid Ferring, of the University of North Texas, reported that in the ancient site of Dmansis, just north of Turkey, they have discovered (and it has been scientifically verified), that that the oldest fossils ever discovered of homo-erectus are located here, actually in line with where many scholars believe Noah and the Ark would have landed (see also News  & Updates – January 2011 – burneyfam.com).

Inmate letter – From Vacaville State Prison – It has been a long time since I was in Mendo Jail, and I have been going over your virtual chapels that I kept with me, and I would like to start getting them sent to us here.  I remember reading one of your books while I was there in Ukiah too, and I wonder if you remember which one it was—it had pyramids on the front—and I know that it would be a great book for us here at state prison to go over.  I will be sure and pass around the messages you send to me, as many here have read the ones I already have, and are waiting for more.  I hope you get this letter, as these virtual chapels are several years old, and I don’t know if the address is still ok.  Sincerely….

End Times in Our Time?  The revised version of the book “Revelation, Apostasy, End Times, & “This Generation” should be available from the publisher by July.  These “News & Updates” keep these books current.  Daniel gave a prophecy of the final world empire (Dan. 2:40-45).  It is a divided kingdom (east & west—two legs), each leg having five toes (10 total).  John, in Revelation, gives the same vision of the end when the beast is described as having ten horns (Rev. 13 & 17). Note that Daniel tells us that three of the kings will fall when the end times approach (Dan. 7:7-8, 19-26).  You’ll notice that the world news records that of the five in the east (Iran, Iraq, Syria, Edom, and Egypt), two have fallen already—they are no longer strong leaders (Iraq & Egypt).  And, at this writing, a third is about to fall (Syria).  Also note that Isaiah 19:1-4 records that Egypt is foretold to have a division within (which has now occurred), and then to be ruled by a cruel master (perhaps influenced by Iran?).  Then, in verses 5-10, it is foretold that Egypt will be devastated (perhaps due to a war with Israel?).

Inmate letter from Susanville State Prison – Pastor Gerry…thank you for staying in touch with me.  And, thanks for the new Virtual Chapels and the new book.  I read the last book you sent me about three times, and now I lend it out to other men here.  Your books have really helped me answer many questions I have always had. And they help me work with other men here too.  I want to help others have a personal relationship with God, and acquire a positive path in this life.  I’ll stay in touch when I return to Mendocino County, so I can get involved in ministry somehow.  God Bless….

Evidence from the science of physics supports supernatural design.  Particle physicist John Polkinghorne (Cambridge University), along with Nobel Laureate Abdus Salam (Theoretical Physicist, Cambridge University), Brian Josephson (Nobel Prize in Physics), Nobel Laureate Murray Gell-Mann (research that led to the discovery of the Quark), and Physicist Bob Russell, at a series of conferences at Oxford University (as reported in Discover Science magazine – March 2011, pages 48-52), have raised serious questions as to whether an intelligent designer is the only explanation for the unexplained aspects of Physics today.  Polkinghorne states, “Physics asks how the world works, and when it answers that question it finds a very deep, marvelously patterned order.  But, it doesn’t explain where that order comes from.” 

     Examples of the unexplainable in Physics include the mysteries of the “uncertainty principle” at the subatomic level with regards to quantum physics, as well as the mystery of “chaos theory” to explain large scale events (the cosmos).  Einstein was the first to show that time is not absolute.  There is no universal clock, which means science cannot identify what mechanism is controlling events in our space/time continuum.  Quantum physicist Antoine Suarez (Zurich) states that, “There is no story that can be told that can explain how these quantum correlations keep occurring…you could say the experiments show that space time does not contain all the intelligent entities acting in the world, because something outside of time is coordinating the photons’ results…there is strong experimental evidence for accepting that non material beings act in the world.”

     The science of Physics admits the universe we see began in a supernatural event they call the “Big Bang.”  This event is supernatural because, as any textbook will tell you, “At the very beginning, the laws of Physics were suspended” (meaning supernatural).  These men are attempting to understand why there seems to be evidence for an intelligent entity being behind the day to day activities of both the subatomic world, as well as the cosmos.

Scientific Evidence Confirms that the World’s Mountains are not millions of years old –  Science has now shown that the conventional theory of the formation of the mountain ranges is flawed.  As pointed out in this months issue of “Acts and Facts,” the conventional scientific view of slow tectonic plate movements, and slow sedimentary build-up over millions of years, does not hold up to the fact that erosion rates have proven to be actually faster than these supposed slow movements.  In other words, the conventional scientific view would result in a flat earth—erosion occurring faster than formation of the mountains.  Since the mountains are everywhere, and actually show little erosion, they therefore, must be of recent formation (perhaps within the last 5,000 years), forming from a rapid tectonic plate movement of as much as one meter per second.

 Inmate letter from Pleasant Valley State Prison – Pastor Gerry.  I really believe the experience I went through at Mendocino Jail were part of a greater plan.  I came to that jail not believing in God.  I thought it was all a game.  I would even laugh and make ignorant comments.  But, you, and a couple of the other guys you were working with, encouraged me.  I still don’t trust the Bible.  I don’t want to be fooled by man’s ways, and I think the Bible is just some writings by men.  I like reality.  I am going to pray that God will lead me to understand the truth, and maybe your Virtual Chapels can help.  Do you have any on trusting the Bible ?  Your brother…..   [I sent a couple to him, including one titled “Great Prophecies” (available on our web site – www.burneyfam.com – Messages), which point to the supernatural reality of God authoring the Bible].

Prison inmate letter & Human DNA Studies –  Ann Gibbons, in an article in Science, titled “Calibrating the MtDNA Clock,” states that “In recent studies, scientists were “stunned” to find ten base-pair changes, which gave them a rate of one mutation every 40 generations…researchers had previously calculated that “mitochondrial Eve” (the woman whose MtDNA was ancestral to that of all living people), lived 100,000 to 200,000 years ago in Africa.  However, using the new clock from the latest scientific studies, she would be a mere 6,000 years old.”  This admission by science points to the creation as laid out in the Bible – a supernatural creation.  As science states in Physics concerning the “Big Bang,” “The laws of physics were suspended at the point of the “Big Bang.”  In other words, it was “supernatural” – not natural.
